    So
Interview with who: Budden, Charlamagne or Nore?

Considering how it’s so legacy focused I’d hope Drink Champs. Def not budden lol

Great music and some records lol. Maybe it's just me but sometimes, Cole makes songs like he's still trying to prove he can rap. I got that feeling especially listening to Might Delete Later. Like he's trying to make sure you're impressed by his bars as opposed to just making great records. I don't know how to explain it.

    Nah, I gotcha.

when blokes are shouting at you that you should "dissect" music or that it only matters that you feel music when me, as an enlightened centrist, feels like both are valid

Cool song, feels like the framing device of life in reverse is kinda muddled but it’s definitely not bad

  • album called the the fall off and the he first thing we hear is him telling his life story from death-birth in reverse framed as a fall from grace that’s really cool
The fact it’s track 1 of disc 2 is also really cool

Oh no, this song is great for what it is, although I'm sure he did the whole reverse perspective thing for the rap nerds he knew would eat it up lol.

I think it’s clever he did the Nas rewind thing except for your whole life starting at your death ending at your birth a lot of great moments on there too like flipping the I Do and painting it as like a fall from grace of losing everything by he has and that little bit about his father coming back and all that video was p cool too beat is not INSANE but I’m p sure the sample is a reference or something idk why I can’t recall rn what this sample was used in before

The thing about what Nas did was that the Gun and bullet theme was already extreme. Doing it backwards is what made it elite.

Just rapping your life backwards is…cool, but theres no other layer to also view the song.

He's not exactly wrong. Rocky's first album in 8 years drops in less than 2 days and the person being talked about in rap circles right now is Cole lol.

sure but most of the world and especially America will treat him and see him as black so that barely matters

Sure but rapping ā€œa white person never done nothing for meā€ and saying I don’t feel like I’m white is insane to say when your single white mom raised you
