    The music simply isn't fun enough to be a "turn your brain off" situation

    The only appeal of the music is his skill at rapping but when you try to pay attention to what he's rapping about you realize the answer is pretty much nothing

    It's just bland

    When you gone through the things he’s going through, the music will forever resonate. Those pain never fade and these songs make you feel aight. You fortunately may not have been in those places before so that’s why you aren’t getting it. Most Cole fans know the struggles he’s talking about.

    I think at worst it’s a good album, but the problem is this was worked on for a decade and touted as his retirement magnum opus, so it being just good is kind of a negative thing

    There are bright spots for sure but also all of the negative hallmarks that exist on every Cole album

    I think Disc 1 is pretty much just a standard Cole album. Like I predicted months ago on here, It’s just gonna be The Off Season 2

    Disc 2 is actually pretty bad tho. If it was its own project it would easily be his worst. I genuinely don’t know why he felt the need to release it
