But Kendrick doesn’t have a monopoly on concept albums, why not compare this to other concept albums?
Big Krit actually did a double disc concept album. That would make more sense than Kendrick if ppl comparing
I mean I agree but I’m also not gonna knock people for having that discussion
I think Cole and Kendrick are 2 of the best story tellers oat
Feel like pac in Atlanta
Yes, a lot of LA people I know appreciated it
ah word, didnt know that fr. really didnt know it had any impact outside of the video
Cant be you niggas
Hypnotize being my first exposure
frontin is a classic I wouldn't have wanted any other song as my first
LA culture is in dot just like it was in Nip wtf is the issue with Dot representing that and his spirit within the art form they both loved?
A lot of all on here should just gone ahead and say hip hop ain’t for yall lol
Brother please don’t do the Eminem fan s***
I promise someone can be a real fan of hip hop and also be disappointed by this
I think it should’ve just been 1 disc
Take a few songs off disc 2 and replace a few on disc 1
Would’ve been perfect
The first like 6 tracks on disc 1 are a very solid run
how you feel about disc 1 i feel about disc 2 lmao i think im just a mellow mfer and the song about his girl really resonates with how i view my relationship
Production is more or less uniformly great, and Cole’s technical skill is on full display. Still earnest, still not super clever, definitely not funny. His singing sounds good, which was a pleasant surprise, except for whenever it gets grungy
Idk if I’d call this a complaint, but in seeking to make the undeniable masterwork of his career Cole fell into the trope of borrowing from previous classics. Midway through disc 2 it starts feeling like every song is going to lean on a sample, interpolation, or generally emulating a more well-known / well-trod song
Guys please try this sequencing. Straight up makes the album elite.
1. 29 intro
2. Who Tf Iz U
3. Two Six
4. The fall off is inevitable
5. Poor Thang
6. SAFETY
7. Legacy
8. Bunce Rd Blues
9. Drum n Bass
10. Run a Train
11. Port Antonio
12. Bombs in the Ville/Hit the Gas
13. The Let Out
——
1. 39 Intro
2. Stickz n Stonez
3. The Villest
4. Man Up Above
5. Trae the Truth in Ibiza
6. Lonely at the Top
Made me realise a lot of my problems with it were the sequencing
reported genuinely
LA culture is in dot just like it was in Nip wtf is the issue with Dot representing that and his spirit within the art form they both loved?
What compelled you to write this rn? Did someone try to say differently itt?
A lot of this album sounds like this
I didn't wanna be the one to say it
Seen a post that said "Cole is just Black passing Logic" and a lot of s*** really started clicking lol
For what it's worth that Logic album was meant to be his "retirement" album just like this Cole album and I feel like they both did a good enough job at being that.
Unfortunately Logic ruined it by going on to drop three more albums after it each more unnecessary than the last but that's me.

Yes. Multiple people
Disc 29 was aggressive production and flow wise. Gave me so many pleasant gunit/mobb/eminem vibes, so at 12am that was right on time. By the time I got to the second disc I was pretty tired so the slower vibes felt like a drag last night. Went back and played the intro to disc 39 again today in the whip and he really left earth…cut like 2 or so songs off each of these and this is a 9/10. As is, 8/10 IMO. Very good album
A lot of all on here should just gone ahead and say hip hop ain’t for yall lol
Oh modern hip hop is definitely buns 🔥🔥
Niggas can only mention political issues as metaphors now 🔥🔥
Did people think Run A Train was Cole using AI? I’m still stuck on y’all not thinking that was Fewtch

Yeah I enjoyed the singing more than I thought I would. Like there were a few times when he started singing I was like meh but as the song progressed it got better for me
Yes, but why can't niggas add to it?
thats fair, didnt know people really felt something about that verse fr
A lot of all on here should just gone ahead and say hip hop ain’t for yall lol
Wasn't long before we got the typical "If you don't like Cole then you don't like hip-hop" post lmao
probably a good thread idea
