Someone made a post before that I couldn't agree more with that actually mentioned the exact opposite. I feel like everyone was fatigued from Kendrick and Drake fans and couldn't be more excited to hand Cole his flowers but he somehow f***ed it up. This was a rare moment where the stars where completely aligned for Cole but he fumbled

    Yeah that’s how I feel

People were confidently saying this was gonna be an instant classic

I think this album will age really well, once the expectations of a post beef album and s*** like that fades. I think the concept could be a lil stronger and Only One is a hard listen for me, but after two full listens this feels like a top 3 Cole for me. Consistent to who he is and what he's been aiming for

It will get its flowers when he does this tour for sure

I see a lot of people complain about the singing

I actually kinda liked it and The Let Out is one of my favorite songs here

  • If anything it’s the repetitiveness / same-ness of the rapping that sucks

bro i got teary eyed when the the fan talked about feeling like cole understood him in his hardest times. I had cole songs like sideline story or change playing that helped me keep going in some of my lowest moments

i feel like some people need to listen to this with the lyrics in front of them

man i used to have I Get Up as my alarm song, waking me up for school every day my sophomore year in HS. i used to rap them s***s with my entire heart cause i could resonate with the feeling of wanting to be great and make something of myself

fast forward a decade plus later, heard it come a month ago on my way to work and for the first time, i reflected on them early mornings from hs and where i was at in life then and how much i have accomplished since.. i bawled my eyes out man. played the song on repeat like 10 times straight. crying harder each time cause gah damn. that mfer’s words resonated with me as a kid and here i am as a man and its reminded me of the tenacity i had to get where i am

thats why i’ll always love this mfers music, that s*** been a core part of my life
