That song is legit 10/10
yup. possibly his greatest song in his career, i feel that strongly
the range of emotions i go through from excitement, to reflection, to motivation to pure joy. s*** is sonically pleasing and some of the best work he’s ever crafted
Do people still pay attention to pitchfork? FNL and FHD are certified classics while the off season and born sinner are great albums. Those ratings only validate my opinion that these magazines are clueless when it comes to music

That and the climb back are my favorite from the off season. Climb back had the lyricism while Trae the truth in Ibiza was very prescient for the moment.
Lowkey songs like these are why I don’t take hiphop heads seriously. These songs check every box they claim to care about but they ignore it cuz it’s Cole

if i could’ve curated this album, both those songs would’ve absolutely been on TFO
i felt that strongly about the climb back until he created trae the truth in ibizia lol
I really like that safety record
With some small changes, Combining tracks from MDL, Disc 1 and 2, You could make a very very solid album
Life Sentence needs to be pushed as a single...that's his best song with hit potential song since Born Sinner era

i feel this way about disc 2. disc 1 i had to come around to
I still ain't played disc 2, I've been fw disc 1 HEAVY

Your average j Cole hater
Born Sinner wasn’t the album it could have been…still a top Cole project to me but interesting that it was better
great question. born sinner era i was inspired and making great songs, but it was also a lot of overthinking going on. decisions made from thought and not from the heart. So a lot of classic songs from the era got left off the album. I probably thought people wouldn't want to hear those types of songs from me on an album.
Rappers need to do what Drake and Nas did and just drop loosies and unreleased songs for some compilation
Just adds to classic catalog
Title it Cole World - Ville Edition or some sht
Disc 2 I had to come around. Disc 1 was immediate
Neither immediate for me lol just wasnt expecting this vibe at all but mannn when it clicked
8.5/10 easy
Phenomenal score for a double album I don't think any double album is a 9/10 tbh
My vinyl coming Friday

Pitchfork is an irrelevant relic
Disc 2 I had to come around. Disc 1 was immediate
For me it was the opposite
Love both Discs now
i am a disc 2 truther but i fw disc 1 heavy now. took a couple days and different settings
Metacritic:
65/100 J.Cole - The Fall-Off
54/100 Drake - Some Sexy Songs 4 U
87/100 Kendrick Lamar - GNX
Kendrick ended the debate.
