    You may remember Jungle, the UK music collective;

    but during lockdown, a collective becomes more of a scattered group of individuals.

    One of Jungle’s 2 founding members, J Lloyd, produced his own solo album in April, and I'd just like to remind you all how great the entire piece is.

    Kosmos is 25 tracks of soul-inflected dance music, set to video footage of people dancing to something entirely different.

    Watching people really dance/rave to electronic music is always painful, but watching it without the accompanying rhythm is f***ing hilarious. If someone asked me to explain 2020's lockdown with one reference, it would be this album.

    Dude really uses that rhythmic mismatch to displace our sense of time and rhythm, like the layering of present-day reality on a background that no longer makes sense is so eerie but a fitting aesthetic for our year.

    Buy and stream here: jlloyd.lnk.to/kosmos
    But I really recommend watching the music video, too.

    More Jungle music coming soon.
