i’ve been thinking about getting an MPC for a hot minute since im primarily sample based but i have beef with learning curves and hardware
The newer ones are pretty straightforward. Shouldn’t be that big of a jump from FL
I’d personally just stick with a daw over the newer ones tho. They don’t really feel like hardware, They feel more like a super limited daw with an mpc style workflow
You got a turntable?
OK THIS SCREAMS BITTERNESS!! Lets talk about it.
who?
Yeah I use a sampler lol
I’ve had a few MPCs and currently use an isla s2400
I also got a prophet 6 that I don’t give as much love as I should
I’ve really been thinking about getting a mixer
I want to go dawless since the computer is so distracting for me but i dont know what id record to - what do you use to record?

Well ultimately everything ends up in ableton at the end. Its literally impossible to make music without a computer being involved
I usually make the beat in my sampler then track it out into ableton at the end (when I actually rarely finish something lol)
So if you mean for recording vocals then a computer is the best thing for that
I feel like the joke is on Jack because there is no chance Kanye actually drops on this date

nah no turntable, only hardware i splurged on was a MIDI keyboard pretty much, im currently looking to build a PC though rn cause my laptop is s***ting itself
ill look into the newer ones
So Kanye should postpone his album for tracks that weren't good enough for Lorde/Taylor/Lana

Yeah man I’d definitely recommend upgrading that before any hardware
I gotta buy a new interface because my dumbass plugged in my Apollo x with the wrong cord and fried it
I just don’t want to drop another stack on a new one

You wont regret the MPC, as long as its the newer models,
They got a stem separation plugin releasing real soon, and you can sync and download sounds from your splice account over wifi!!!

I heard about that
Wonder how good it sounds
All the other stem separation plug ins leave a bunch of artifacts that kinda ruin it for me

You could Record everything in the MPC and then stem it out to get mixed and mastered, or make the beats in the MPC, stem it out, and record on pro tools

Theres a video on theire website, ill let you guys know when it releases how good it is
The splice wifi sound importing is a great functionality, no usb sticks or connecting to your pc
