A sit down is a conversation. Referring to that conversation as "giving someone the guide" instead of "giving someone guidance" is why it's awkward.

Yes the meaning comes across, but it's clearly just exploring the rhyme scheme for all that it is worth. If you've ever tried to write, you would recognize that. I'll go even further and say "the guide" is more likely to be called "the manual" or "the formula" or "the recipe" or "the key(s)" or showing someone "the ropes". There are just endless more organic alternatives. Harlow is usually great at being organic so that sticks out as forced to me.

I don't like Dave having a gap in his flow that early in the verse either.
