monocultureThere's definitely a level of deceit there.. The way I take it in the hook is how passionate friendships can be as teens, like you think these will be your friends forever.. The longer you're alive the more flaws emerge in the people around you and it's like, who the f*** have you become.. Obviously he's capturing some extreme cases here, probably could've communicated it more elegantly but these guys would only be satisfied if he rapped "So I took a bike lock to his skull, and I really did that, for real" – ah okay, 10/10 expressed correct levels of outrage, thank you Jack

Intro is a good song, and I don’t doubt that it came from a genuine place, but opening the album with it is a really weird decision, and does feel like he’s trying hard to dead the “careless, privileged white rapper” allegations.
