yeah I found the story telling aspect to be quite flawed here.
yeah, i get what he was trying to do but...nah im good on that song haha
also not a lot of shiny music on this one. very breathable textures...turgid grooves...I like it
for an artist like Jack Harlow who doesn't have too much too say...yes it is..
his projects should all be this length.
his next album should be this length, with this level of personality, but with the polish/budget of Come Home Kids Miss You and the hunger of Thats What They All Say
I agree they should all be this length. As far as the direction he should probably just try to recreate First Class and What’s Poppin, just work in those formulas and leave this actual rapping s*** alone. He’s somehow not that bad at it but also WOAT and cringe
It can’t be gives me born sinner vibes
Born Sinner is a good comparison, this is an unhinged awkward stage

it feels like a coming of age album I can see that

fr, he's perfect when it's on a catchy song like that,
swag rapping over catchy beats and earworm chorus'
put all that rap skill into making one or two memorable ass lines/deliveries and boom, the Harlow Lane
This project is dope but gang gang gang sounds like a macklemore song lmao
Perfect song. Yall hate hiphop

his verse on paperwork party remix is what this whole album shouldve been
Perfect song. Yall hate hiphop
not at all. I really like the album but that one is not it. It falls flat to me
some of the reception to ggg is weird as hell ive seen people say he was condoning the s*** hes taking about, being tone deaf to victims, and now being too "pc" when talking about it, like i feel like some of ya missed the point of it? idk
Full review coming soon. All I got to say is
8.5/10
Good album.
My favourite rap album of the year so far.
Perfect song. Yall hate hiphop
I can respect him trying something and there are redeemable aspects of the songwriting, looking at it technically. But at the end of the day it’s We Cry Together tier. People are never gonna like it when you put something that’s actively upsetting/hard to listen to on an album. He didn’t really stick the landing making his point either

People are f***ing stupid

Its literally 1000 times more listenable than what kendrick did. Best song on the album

if he wanted the track to be tone deaf towards victims he succeeded, there is nothing else on the track that brings me to replay it
People are f***ing stupid
Truthfully, it's family 'til it can't be, gang 'til it ain't
Twins, but it depends, brothers until somethin' is uncovered
Dawgs until the lifting of the fog
"I always got you" turns into "Well, I never thought you"
Years of camaraderie suddenly disappear
Almost like you never were here
Unconditional love becomes very conditioned when push comes to shove
And all that talk of takin' bullets suddenly feels foolish
Pictures with him turn to ad campaigns, you gotta pull it
Feet held to the fire
We hold accountable the ones we hold dear out of morals, but mainly fear
The choice becomes clear
And years of camaraderie suddenly disappear
Almost like you never were here
maybe im tripping but to me there is NO ambiguity in these lyrics whatsoever, it's pretty surface level but his stance was made clear in this verse im not really understanding the different perspectives people are taking on this track

We Cry Together been slandered consistently, but it’s way more creative then what Jack did

it's not tone deaf at all imo, the victims aren't the only people affected with situations like these

The confusion likely comes from the 3rd verse being a little bit wishy washy/unclear in the point it’s making. When it starts feeling like the “when s*** hits the fan are you still a fan” talk, obviously he’s not defending the people but his stance is pretty unclear on how he feels about it. Like it’s almost like part of him is saying he still should be “ride or die”. Which I guess is because he’s conflicted about losing friends like that but it’s not communicated perfectly
