BrickellBaysideGotta realize, to this day they s*** on every drake album that drops and say that every Cole album is sleep inducing.
At this point, getting slandered is part of the game. Legitimately no one likes anything.
But if you hear the album, hear the content on this album, one would think or assume that the project was made to be panned by people who take the time to go on social to announce their criticisms of albums.
Like, the people who will like First Class, Parent Trap, Nail Tech, that demo is not on twitter giving album reviews every Friday.
That's what Drake, Cole, future, to a lesser extent Big Sean, had to learn about criticism. When you decide to make overt pop rap, the internet not rolling a lot of the times.

Pop rap. The goal isn't to lace every bar with lyrical miracle s***. He's trying to do arenas. So with that, you have to have low hanging fruit kind of bars. Those are the bars that people will gravitate to.
Twitter and IG may kill those lines, but people on twitter and IG who take the time to actually give commentary on albums...aren't actually the people who are going to be buying the album, buying the merch, buying the tour tickets, etc.
Like, Pusha T or Dot ( no offense) will always get the RATYO commentary you know? But when your goal is bigger, the focus is not on how good your raps are.
