Apparently this is getting some huge buzz rn at Cannes.

Just seen someone describe this s*** as “a Spanish musical about the gender transformation of a d*** lord”

And Sicario meets La La Land meets Mrs. Doubtfire

I think they meant giving auteurs checks to create movies for them. They’ll still acquire already filmed movies looking for distribution

Yeah Netflix likes to cheat like that. Then if it’s successful or getting award buzz they’ll slap a “Netflix original” on it lol

    Lmaooooo right

Sicario meets La La Land meets Mrs. Doubtfire

Apparently it’s based around Mexican crime - Sicario

    It’s a musical - La la Land

And the character becomes a trans woman, years later links back up with his ex and kids but lies and says she’s their rich Auntie - Mrs Doubtfire

  • Frémaux must be mad as f*** now. He didn’t want a Netflix film at Cannes.

heard terrible things about this one (unsurprising given it's Audiard)

  • The synopsis has got me confused. A cartel leader wants to leave the life, and in order to do so he’s transitioning to a woman? Is this a comedy?

  • intrigued at selena gomez in a serious role

Smh trailer is translated in a different language

  • Damn

  • Thing that has me confused is they have a pretty straight forward plot (in the synopsis) “Person wants to leave the cartel, they transition, return back to family and they have no idea who they are now”

    Ok cool.

The trailer doesn’t reflect that at all and barely even shows the cartel person. It’s mostly Zoe in the trailer lmao. And I have no idea how she’s even related to the plot….
