    because sexual assaults are incredibly hard to prove and reliving an assault in an extended trial with a public figure can be financially and emotionally taxing. additionally, women are often afraid to speak out against powerful men and risk burning important bridges or being blackballed in their careers in the immediate aftermaths of these events.
