“there is absolutely nothing better than living outside the gender binary”
strait up promoting gender dysphoria
Non binary people exist, but in a patriarchal society that is heavily based on a gender binary, it is essentially meaningless because you will always be read as one of two genders when you enter a room and reap the benefits/treatment that comes with it, making calling yourself non binary effectively meaningless. Like good for her, don’t get me wrong, I have a lot of non binary friends, and the gender binary does suck but it is a socially dominant thing and it makes being non binary really not a substantial category. Imo at our current place in society it’s bettet to attempt to usurp the meanings of what it means to be a “man” or a “woman” rather than try to adopt a third category that is pretty much nonexistent materially speaking
@baella what do you think about what I’m saying? I’m curious for your opinion. Know we clown on each other a lot but it’s genuinely something I’m really interested in and have a lot of thoughts on
Also I though she’d been calling herself this for a while now
Basically tom boy but they want to be special
the tony blair avi really tops off this f***ery of a comment

We’re both communists here - so in the interest of criticism and self criticism, I’m interested to hear more on why you think that? I’m not married to that position, it is a question I’m still exploring, but as a materialist I tend to have confidence in that take more or less
What’s your thoughts?

i don't think you can apply materialism to something as meta as gender identity
it is what it is, i don't see it affecting anyone negatively
Lol KTT s***posts and derails almost every thread that tries to be serious. But when it comes to threads about topics like this, yall are 100% serious and unabashed about how out of touch and unbelievably conservative yall are

I don’t think it’s a negative thing either and again I think the gender binary is bullshit and should ultimately be destroyed. However, I’m saying that as a materialist we can frankly say that despite what someone’s internal understanding of their gender may be, the vast majority is going to treat them as one of two things, and therefore, they are effectively one of two things. I’m not saying that’s a good thing, but an unfortunate fact, and a fact that NB people need to be more cognizant of, particularly AMAB NB people, who largely get the benefits of being read as men by the majority of society, basically escaping any real gender oppression. You know what I mean?
