Great song and album
Facts, DC is actually my favorite Janelle album now. It took awhile for me to really appreciate this album, it’s more pop in comparison to AA and EL. Once it clicked

i think it's her best as well. showcases the pop sensibilities Janelle always had but still keeps her funk. the songwriting on songs like Pynk and Don't Judge Me are just too good.

Yep, and while DC is still deeply connected with the concepts of AA and EL, it also has a balance of being more of a casual listen. Something that I can just put on enjoy, and that’s an element I always put emphasis on. AA and even EL to an extent are brilliant bodies of work, they feel like a movie to a degree. I’d have to understand the story to really appreciate the work.

yup this reasoning is exactly why I only find myself playing those albums in full once in a blue moon. i can appreciate the ambition and grandeur behind them but it doesn't make for repeated listening personally.
she doesn't have a miss in her discog tho
