Feel like Nas edged out Jay in the beef. Takeover was hot but ether was a haymaker to the gut. Nas basically made Hov retire just so he could see whether or not he was really respected like that in the industry.(rapping wise of course)

I mean yea,but Blueprint 2 was before TBA and alot of people was hard on that album for many reasons(not living to The Blueprint name,the Nas beef etc). TBA always kinda felt like an attempt at a perfect bow out,he was self aware enough to know he needed to go away for a moment,Jay also had a way better team then most that kept him up to date with the youth.

Marketing TBA as his retirement album was the smartest move Jay ever made imo.
