It is black owned. He didn’t say black employees. And idk I can’t speak on that cause I don’t even know what they do. Could he have found some? Probably. How recent is that picture anyway?

I brought up ye because people specifically bring down jay to uplift ye.

Bro you're being disingenuous. You know when niggas market their s*** as a black business theres the implication that they have black people helping to run the business. Not the sprint corperation or Square

I won’t deny that Jay may have done some positive things but this is an incredibly bad example lol

    Scratchin Mamba

    "He keeps it black"

That's the dream he sold you. Nothing about anything he does uplifts black people, it's all just aesthetics and it's an insult to the revolutionary leaders whose legacy he coopts and everything that they stood for everything that Jay-Z chooses to obfuscate.

Adding a couple of black tokens to the white ruling class does nothing for all the black people living poverty. Whether it's a white man or a black man exploiting you doesn't change anybody's material reality.

Like Fred Hampton said, who Jay-Z cynically claims to be his successor of, black capital won't give us black liberation:

It does uplift the black peoples he helped. Maybe it doesn’t change your reality, you can speak for yourself.

Jordan is a token for the white ruling class. Lebron James is not. Don’t care how you feel about him.

Black capitol wont give black liberation but it is a start if they want it to be. It falls on them wanting to or not wanting to.

@Cookies you need to peep this brilliant work by the Minister of Defense Huey Newton

    https://archive.lib.msu.edu/DMC/AmRad/essaysministerdefense.pdf

Me and some comrades did a study group on this and it transformed our world outlook. I recommend you be willing to do the same

I will read this and get back to you when I get the chance.

I’m not being disingenuous. Black owned means it’s black owned. Also I’m assuming that is somewhere in Brooklyn or Manhattan. Who do you think Is going to work there?

  • Mar 20, 2022

In the name of fairness ill name some good things Jay z did in the past few years.

    • bailed out BLM protesters
    • paid 21 savages lawyers and refused to be paid back

Youre the one who said he "keeps it black".

Co owning a business with sprint and Jack Dorsey is keeping it black?

Except it's not a start bro. A couple of black mfs having a seat at the table doesn't change s*** on a systemic level.

Lebron is a good guy imo and he definitely has done more for his community than Jordan, him making his school a public school is pretty big for example so I'll give him credit for that, but he isn't gonna do s*** on a systemic level either. Remember when he stopped the BLM strike during the NBA playoffs when Obama made the call lol?

That's not even to slight him, but we have to be more wise and stop trying to find saviors and messiahs in celebrities. Appreciate their work and if you find inspiratiom in them that's great and whenever they do speak up it's definitely commendable, but the way in which Jay presents himself as a black messiah and how so many people fall for it is gross tbh and won't bring us any further.

Do you think labels just hand out contracts to be generous? They wouldn’t if it wasn’t profitable for them

Obviously they can give people opportunities but as Marxists we need to be critical of all that exists. It’s ultimately a form of exploitation like any other business deal
