Wayne is the best lyricist? lol

Wayne spent most of his prime freestyling dumb ass punchlines. They were hard dumb ass punchlines because Wayne is an alien. But they were still a lot of nonsense. Jay has definitely used his raps to convey a lot deeper emotion and headier ideas.

Freestyling. Exactly. Niggas couldn’t event write half the s*** he freestyled

That's fine, but that's not top notch lyricism. It's a different energy. It's lightning in a bottle.

Bruh Wayne’s energy was crazy lol. Didn’t even matter the production. No one else could say half the s*** he said and make it sound clean. Only a few could pull that off. Except Em, BIG, ODB. Theirs way more but that’s off the top

Hes not the best lyricist (Wayne is)

He doesnt have the best flows (he literally raps at a snail pace and all his flows sound the same
    )

He doesnt have the best discography (kanye does)

He doesnt have the most classics (kanye does)

Hes not the richest rapper (kanye is)

Hes only relevant still because hes married to beyonce (who he cheated on)

He has like 7 mid albums (kanye resurrected his career with wtt)

    The truth hurts doesnt it

Em is an autistic level writer. Biggie put together some really complex narratives. ODB is a good comparison. I'm guessing a lot of his stuff was improvisation. At least the delivery of it.

    Em autistic
Can’t be proven tbh, dude has a s***load of unreleased music that the label protects like FBI Files.
    look at his leaks

BIG just didn’t have a chance to fully grow. You can tell he was reaching to that point. Same with Pac, Pac was close to being in his “lyrical” bag right before he was murdered

Jay Z is definitely the GOAT

  • Jun 26, 2020

Man either way it don't matter.

It's only a matter of time before Drake is considered the goat anyway

  • Jul 24, 2020

choosing the actual GOAT is personal opinion but Hov is undisputed in the top 5

The hate is strong with this one.

And I'm a Jay-Z hater. His character is heavily flawed.

But musically? The guy is always gonna be on raps Mt. Rushmore. Hes solidified.

Jay Z is definitely the GOAT

He's the GOAT for what hes been able to accomplish through Hip-Hop and as a shrewd businessman.

Idgaf if Drake makes 100 billion in his career, he'll never be more respected and revered then Jay-Z.

    Kids don’t know s***

yep all they do is listen to "real rappers" like jay so it makes sense why theyd think hes the goat, wait till they discover ye

  • Jul 24, 2020

We got kids in here saying Wayne better than Jay after No Ceilings,Lil Wayne’s raps barely make any sense

  • Jul 24, 2020

It's about sliders, not just one thing. Like I always say: Jay is the only hall of fame rapper who is so high in important criteria across the board - anyone else near his level falls in some category

I know we all young niggas on this site who came up in a post-Grad/Crank Dat Soulja Boy/Carter III rap landscape where being a WWE type superstar rapper where quotables and catchy singsong hooks is enough to make you a GOAT, but...it's more than that in rap

Jay is more than that. He is all of that
