Pac would have fallen off and Biggie already wanted to retire
Na Biggie wanted to start his own record label and leave Bad Boy. Maybe Pac would've fallen off but he wasn't at the time of his death and he had his foot on Jay's neck. S*** Pac was responding to Jay disses from his grave lmao

Huh?
There's nothign to support Pac falling off
Pac was already a megastar that was expanding beyond Hip-Hop at the time of his death.

Pac had more disses lined up for jay too lol
Pac was ready to bury him before he even got his real start
My dinner with Jay Z wasn't really a dinner, more of a confirmation. It confirmed that I'm built different. The knowledge alone was priceless. HOV sneezed in my soup but besides that, it was one of the greatest nights of my life.

Well I mean, he already was like 6 albums in, #1 albums, critically acclaimed films like Juice, acting pedigree,
There's obv no way to know but unlike biggie who was a rap star at the time of his death, Pac was already flirting with superstar status.

Them two dying, especially Pac, paved the way for a lot of careers

I don't know if I 100% agree, because it's not like Pac's success had to interfere w/Jay's or Biggie's.
It's not like only ONE or TWO acts could survive.
You look at today, and there's a variety of super successful rappers from ye, to drake, hov, wayne was incredibly successful, TIP, Kendrick and Cole are arena touring acts,
I just think as rap has predictably grown, it's created a large space for multiple hugely successful acts, so it falls flat to me that Pac and Big dying paved the way for people's careers IMO

I think Jay might have had some sort of career like how Nas was still going on his own.
But Pac had real animosity towards Jay, as i said before he had multiple diss tracks for Jay & RD didnt even happen yet.
Im not exactly sure why jay n pac had beef (idk if it was ever fully explained either), but Pac was ready to bury him & they didnt like each other since like 93 or 94 iirc.
Pac & Nas got over their issues shortly before his death & were even gonna do a song together for One Nation, but the same never happened with Jay & i think its more serious with Jay and he had more disses in the vault aimed more at Jay than Dre or Nas before them two reconciled with him. 7day theory had a few songs removed directed at them 3 plus more because of his passing, & his make up with Dre n Nas. Some of these songs have been leaked too.
Plus. When RD did finally come out the year Pac died, it wasnt a big album for like 2 or 3 ish years. Vol 1 is what made people really really care. So imagine your debut "flopping" while having the biggest artist in Rap in the whole world of the time dropping more disses on you before you can even really get started.
This is a day in age where diss tracks actually meant something, were took to heart by the public & can & likely will ruin you rep & career to whatever degree. Jay being a "no name" outside of east coast underground with Jaz O, his spark would be blown out before it even really got to flicker.
I think Jay's career himself would have been really different or even non existent with Pac on his neck, Big the east king & RD not catching on in its year of release. Maybe he would still be a label head pushing others like Big L (if he didn't die either) & Bleek etc., but yeah.
A lot would have to go right for Jay imo to be even half as huge today if Pac n Big stuck. If they did, you might see Jay on vlad's couch & RD listed as one of hiphops most underrated & overlooked albums.
No disrespect to Jay tho, him & Pac are both in my own personal top 10.
I find it really interesting that their two deaths theoretically flipped the timeline on its head to a massive degree.

U missed Lupe saying he gave HOV joints for the Black Album huh?

Reads like something Rory would say from Joe budden & friends
“Just built this rapport with Jay,” he said. “Being able to go to Baseline Studios, see him put together joints like The Black Album and stuff like that, be a part of that, give him joints for that. So, he’s always been in the mix, not so much the past couple albums or the past few years but still the homie though.” - Lupe
Ok
Ye ghostwrote for hov as well
