Melz, the average age of this site is like late 20's - early 30's now. We don't want to hear these spazzy little freaks gurgle autotune into some trash fl studio trap beat or dollar tree XXXtentacion guitar track.

Like I get that you follow these guys and that's fine, your taste is subjective but read the room. Go onto different internet communities with people way younger to discuss this stuff if this is the music they consume. or at least stick to like 1-2 threads about these guys.

no it isnt, not that song at least, its generic Grunge to the T

and im not even talking about "different" new rap

an example, xxxtentaacion was inspired by Grunge (with instrument usage, effects and singing style) and would sing, but he would still RAP, still use rap hi hats, rap 808s, rap structure, rhythms etc.

that dudes song i replied to is LITERALLY Grunge is every single way, it is not inspired or evolved, it is literally what it literally is

it would be just as ridiculous if we called a bonafied country song Rap with literally nothing to do with literal Rap - it IS A BONAFIED grunge song

i know im using "literal" a lot, but im trying to make it very hammered in how LITERAL IT IS of the genre its trying to label as "Rap"

You're right actually. There is no reason to limit the artists that are being discussed about.

I guess the gripe was more that a lot of these threads OP posts come off as borderline spam sometimes. Especially when he creates stuff about artists who already have a dedicated thread. I personally don't want to see like 4 threads in one day about the same guy lol

I do disagree about the "old head" point though, this sub has a majority of 25+ users at this point. Not saying that's a bad thing, because it isn't.

op introduces interesting and recent topics that otherwise wouldn’t be touched on , regardless of their trajectory

its much more insightful than discussing the same topics over and over. we dont know the userbase here its 1000s and 1000s of ppl that post here and you personally arent open to it but people discover new artists all the time on here and op does a good job at holding updates. there’s no window to these sections and discussions
