Every notable rapper in the last 20 years have stated Jay was a major influence

Kanye, Kendrick, Cole, Drake, Wayne etc.

    His influence is absolutely undeniable

They've stated Em as an influence as well, Drake, Wayne, Ye, Kendrick, Cole.

    Now what?

This whole argument dumb as f***

If you don’t like Jays music fine, If you think Drake better fine

But trying to act like he’s a nobody who never did anything is insane

Is this y’all’s strategy with every artist Drake has beef with?

It’s like when y’all said Kendrick was basically an underground artist before the beef

  • Benny Boy

    Cake cake cake cake cake

No idea what Drake was thinking letting that bullshit on his album

Only in terms of influencing other artist.

Em clears in any other metric except business and wife.

Ima just call it how it is, if you really think Hov wasn’t just as important to hip hop becoming mainstream than 50 Cent, Pac, or Eminem then you actually were not around. It’s not always about numbers but impact and longevity. Hov had more time than all of those guys did if you really wanna look at it.

The bling/materialistic era literally got popularized with him and Diddy (Roc & Bad Boy) in 97-98. 50 had one album and then slowly fell off, em had 3 and then disappeared (most of what em contributed were white fans trying to say he was the endgame for hip hop which that in itself opened up a toxic and racist mentality that is still felt to this day.)

Meanwhile Hov from 98-08 was THE hip hop mogul next to Diddy actually if you wanna talk mainstream.

    Give me that list

    Nas
    Pac
    BIG
    Em
    Jay Z
    LL Cool J
    Rakim
    Ye
    Wayne

When Jay Z said “I gave him 20 mill without blinking, he gave me 20 minutes on stage what was he thinking?”

That’s when everyone should’ve side eyed him lmao. For all of Kanye’s bullshit, that’s just such a stupid disingenuous framing of Kanye, Jay Z, and Tidal.

Tidal completely f***ed TLOP release in a serious way at Kanye’s expense while reaping a lot of benefits for having exclusive rights to it originally. So no he didn’t give you 20 minutes on stage. He gave you an album with crazy hype at one of his peaks in popularity.
