I’ve been listening to a lot of Coltrane and Thelonious Monk lately, but admittedly my knowledge of jazz isn’t very deep so I was wondering if someone could recommend some more artists or albums to check out?

keith jarrett (koln concert), pat metheny (as wichita falls) if you want something thats not too "challenging". weather report (heavy weather) if you want something fun and silly. if you want crazy then some coltrane (interstellar space or meditations), jazz composer's orchestra (s/t), anthony braxton (for alto). if you want something modern portico quartet (knee deep), fire orchestra (exit) or even the new pharoah sanders.

listening to the version of My Favorite Things kinda sounds like the world's about to end, but in a good way
also makes me wonder what direction he would have gone in if he lived past 1967
