I don’t really think it’s that uncommon for an American especially someone that’s black to associate soccer with being white because that’s primarily who played in your formative school years. ima keep it real with you man, i grew up in a pretty much 90% black community and soccer was in fact at the bottom of the list of sports at school. our soccer team in middle school was African kids, the black kids who needed a spring/summer sport, Hispanics and whatever white kids were at the school who liked sports and needed something outside of football/basketball

in high school it was much of the same plus a lot more white kids. the schools we played were mainly white kids or a mix of white and hispanic with only like 2-3 black kids on the team. most niggas are doing track and field over soccer, and you don’t have track and field in middle school like that so most kids wasn’t picking soccer as an alternative lmao
