Concrete details of bezos plans aren't out yet but apparently it'll focus on charitable giving and issuing grants. but the problem is none of this s*** will actually fight climate change because in order to do that we need a massive restructuring of society across the globe.

the trillions of dollars would be to restructure our energy grid away from fossil fuels. basically we'd have to enact the green new deal to have any sort of hope. however, under capitalism, the idea that we can properly combat climate change when we live under a system that promotes unfettered and unending economic growth is completely wrong. anything we do to reform the system towards something that could save our planet will be undone the moment the wrong people get into power.
