is bandmanrill the only one really going big with the jersey club in jersey? seems like everyone else is from Philly, or even New York lmao
Pretty much which is a shame but that’s because Newark/Jersey is in the middle of both scenes so it’s hard to get shine fr. It’s other niggas doing it but they are less jersey club rappers and more just young niggas rapping over jersey club drill beats
I implore y’all to get hip to the OGs of this club s*** I’m not saying go all the way back to f***in 09 lol but niggas like DJ Sliink, Brick Banditz, even JayHood

But honestly what musicians from jersey have we put ON in the last ten years. I feel like it’s a Bermuda Triangle thing going on

You gotta point. Most of the jersey rappers that have or had buzz in the last decade either fizzled out before they got really anywhere or was in too deep in the streets. Look at Fetty Wap, Albee Al and Tsu Surf.
And those are older niggas.. I do think one of these younger niggas can break through that’s why I support lil Bruh bandman even tho I don’t listen to his s***. The internet is on their side.

why do you think that is? is it cus nj doesnt have a major city that people go to to get anything popping for themselves (especially sitting in between 2 much larger cities historically in philly n nyc) like not saying its culturallly dead (and a lot of nj people feed the culture of pa and ny) but there's no...cultural hub outside of newark and thats just meh? (not dissing the city)

The thing is, Newark was the cultural hub decades ago but I personally think the combination of street chaos and lack of resources put back Into community led it to be almost a wasteland. Like it’s barely any real nightlife or to hang out in the city…
s*** changing but it’s no way Newark went from having legendary clubs like Sensations and Zanzibar where actual artist would come to perform.. to nothin really besides hole in the wall hood s***. Not to mention when radio was a factor there wasn’t any real presence. It’s just now DJs from Jersey really putting Niggas on Hot97.
Outside of that when it comes to hip hop I think Jersey took too long to establish a “sound”. Even tho there were niggas rapping over club beats ten years ago it wasn’t really f***ed wit how it is today. So it was easy for Jersey niggas to blend in with NY and Philly.
A lot of niggas had to politic with NY artist, to this day I have to tell niggas that niggas like Dash and Retch are from Jersey and they literally rap about “201” lol
@op where do I find more hits now since twerknation28 died?
