when i fell in love with them, i wanted to see soco live so f***ing bad. it was the first song i ever learned and recorded as a multi track cover.

i wasnt old enough to go to shows at my leisure, so i missed a lot

as i got older, i started having opportunities to see them but failing

they were gonna play the album in full. this was my chance ti finally see soco live

i asked this girl way older than me if she wanted to go. i was nervous but f*** it, this was my chance and she had a car

she said yes

and then bailed few days before the show

gutted

as i grew older, i started to realize it was less and less likely they would play it. expressing young short sighted feelings seems embarrassing af as you get older and gain perspective

i saw them so many times

i think the first time i saw them, i finally told my first real gf i liked her after the show and we snuck back into her house, and as i drove home at 4 am, i felt such a happines, life could not be any better.

i met them, went to a sold out show hundreds of miles away cause jesse said he would put me on the guestlist without any actual confirmation he did until i showed up to the venue and told them my name

all of this, but no soco

that one year, they came out and said theyd play all their albums in full up in the north east

this was my chance

it was around halloweeen they announced the shows

i remember because on halloween, i dressed up as Louise from bobs burgers, or just the bunny ears. this girl approached me and said she loved it. she asked my number.

we talked and i found out she just moved to Texas from New Jersey

she was going home for the holidays

the shows were around the holidays

she was a fan. f*** it, i just met her but

i asked.

she said she was down

weeks later we kinda just fizzled out

lost my chance

and that was that

on their last tour, i went cause i liked their new album enough to see them live. but i really had seen every song i had ever adored live except soco. i really felt little reason to go and so while i waited in line, and heard all the stans around me talk, i just knew i was ready to close the book on them

the show started and it was great. new songs were nice. old songs were good.. that was it. came back for encore. i expected Jesus christ or something typical, i cant remember what.. the rest of the band wasnt with him though.

he just had an acoustic guitar. maybe a MM cover like he's done so many times. or NMH.
i knew well enough not to get excited.

but sure enough, it was soco.

and that was the last song they played at the last show ill ever see them play, and truthfully, it was worth it.
