When I first listened to JIK I was MASSIVELY underwhelmed.

Funny enough, TIME itself is not what has made me grow to love the album.

Rather, every live rendition that I see of any of these songs propel my respect for the album to new levels every time.

Selah, Follow God, Use this Gospel, and Jesus is Lord at Forum Sunday Service and Closed on Sunday on Kimmel massively impressed me and brings to light the POTENTIAL of a lot of these tracks. The album versions sound almost 2D and subdued in comparison.

My point is: if he does this live tour right, this could be one of the best tours of his career.

I agree wish there was more Sunday service on the album, missed opportunity

I think it is because of their own album coming. Kanye let them give that special sound to Jesus is King, but at the same time kept it a HIS album and I'm glad for that.

He wanted a clean opportunity to make a Jesus themed rap album. Just a rap album that happens to be about religion but maintains the same production and style as normal secular songs

Jesus is Born is where all the other stuff will come. The ULB type songs, deeper stuff, etc....

Glad he can actually perform it live unlike other recent performances

I feel you, I'm just saying I personally would like it more if he mixed the choir sounds with his own weird sounds like the vocals on hands on.

I don't necessarily think it has better live versions than his other albums. It's just that whole choir and the incredible live instrumentation that put this to another level. I would die to hear LR performed this way.

But whoever thinks JIK is trash, listen to the Sunday Service performances of the songs, it's just phenomenal.

Can you suggest me some SS performances in particular? I've been reading that 10/27 was the best and I absolutely LOVE it.

Late Orchestration was ridiculously good. Y’all should check it out if you haven’t.
