JIK was focused and consistently sonically pleases. lyrically is where is suffered. not like recently for kanye, they werent too stupid they were too bland so his personality and emotion doesnt come through like it usually does (imo one of the things he does best and what i look forward to). however yandhi leaks are pretty complete and decent quality and you get that classic kanye feel and moments. so its really enjoyable rn for me.

with ye i was emotionally moved on first listen although i immediately recognized its flaws it was a strong experience, but then slowly i started coming back to it less except for a couple songs. KSG is objectively good. flow beats lyrics some dope quotables. however compared to yandhi era leaks felt a bit safe.

based off the yandhi leaks, yandhi had the potential to be >>>> ye and ksg for sure, but j based solely off the hella unfinished ass leaks and the rather substanceless jik.............. idk if i can say if theyre > ye + ksg

the guitar interlude, the storm, and new body leaks were mf fire 2 me.... like..... reminded me of mbdtf type comeback energy ye for sure
but the rest of the yandhi leaks weren't nearly as strong for me and defs dont stack up to any of the songs off ye or ksg for me tbqh

    and jik..... man.....

i like new body bc i like the ?storytelling? behind it--it reminds me alot of gold digger, looking at sum sorta modern controversial-ish thing from different perspectives type s***... like how golddigger u get the perspective of the dude getting finessed by a woman and then the side of the woman getting thrown away for someone ""better"""""""""
so new body is kinda similar in that its looking at a woman getting plastic surgery from multiple angles ig

i actually actively dislike on god LMAOOOO
it sounds rly graduation-era ye to me and besides graduation ye being my least fave ye era (i j feel most of the album has aged hella poorly), it just doesnt rly fit production wise with the rest of the album

water is super pretty but it is so f***ing repetitive and substanceless... follow god is one of the better tracks for sure but its deadass 1min 44secs long... bro coulda had so much more s*** in it--like he doesnt say all that much to me. i like use this gospel too but ye has 8 lines on it none of which are in any way shape or form interesting to me--plus i think the kenny g outro corny as hell without like anything done to the sound of the sax.... clipse is dope but its also just... short ???????? man

KSG is flawless. Kinda tough. Yandhi seemed to be on par with ye. I love JIK. But kids see ghosts. Conflicted

    KSG + ye tbh

hmmm why dont u like new body?

i kinda like hands on too bc it kinda goes into his feelings of persecution by other ppl in his faith which is something different but the album is honestly just boring
like ye has made some solid ass religious asl songs like ultralight beam (which still almost makes me cry) and jesus walks (in which every bar is fire and talks abt sumn interesting n different).... but jik fails to make me rly feel all that emotional or want to think about the lyrics

brehhhhh ghe more i talk abt this album the less i like it mannnnnnnnnn
dear kanye i still love u chief

Even if Ye only considered his original Sunday Service material for this album he still could've put his best project this side of MBDTF. The fact that he used Yandhi material AND Sunday Service AND last minute chops and still kinda missed the mark is disappointing. He left a lot of his best work on the cutting room floor.

He has this beautiful concept of songs surrounding nature (The Storm, Garden, Glade, Hurricane, Rain, Water, Valley and I'm probably forgetting some) which is very Genesis/ OT / Psalm-like conceptually.

He also has Sunday service choir worship material that reinvent old classics and new, fresh worship songs. They really should've been featured on every song either in small or large ways. These guys were like his rock sonically the past year and he hardly let them shine on this. I look forward to the JIB release in a few months.

He even had those recent, old school, classic Kanye soul-chopping production sessions throughout this era that is an instant win/ classic amongst fans and casual listeners. He literally can never go wrong doing what he does best, and the examples of this on the album (Follow God, God Is) are testaments to this.

At the very least I thought we were in for the best instrumentally, sonically pleasing album he's ever done.

I'm not even going to go into lyrics because that ship sailed a long time ago.
