That pic of the Rocky record was fake IIRC

Wasn't it photoshopped over a 808s vinyl lol?

cole did that with his recent little freestyle tape, wonder how much it actually sold

i think if you’re a big enough artist like he is, letting people choose how much they wanna spend on it with a minimum buy, sounds like a win for both the consumer and the artist

  • Imagine being so naïve and thinking that the next music service model will be better for artists

I thought someone posted that in the DBD thread but don't know if that was the original image or not either lol

Imagine if Taylor or Drake decided to release their next albums like that. It could start a shift fr

he aint lying because we had access to presentations and strategy overviews from as far back as 2024 where label marketing people talk about investing heavily into superfans and the physical aspect of music (merch, physicals, concerts) in the coming years because basically streaming brings no money

theyre gonna work ai into all the digital and streaming s*** while increasing prices for real life experiences while they still can juice people out from their money. since modern middle class cant afford property anymore it leaves a whole ton of disposable income to relieve people from

Streaming services prioritise having "music for every moment of your life" or whatever Spotify's slogan was. Background music has always been king, and streaming is the perfect medium for that. Whatever happens next will only be worse.

Also Kendrick and Drake are the few ones benefiting from streaming the most.

That’s the future and even with some leaking it they would make more . That is essentially the band camp model

S*** never made sense and was only done to appease the stars/make them feel like they re still selling like past artists even tho mfs are listening to majority of artists music free of charge without actually purchasing any of their s***

How did streaming not make sense

    Streaming hate circle jerk commencing

Ya'll never gonna make me hate how much more I love listening to music since streaming

You didn’t love listening to music before streaming ? You could buy music , pirate some but since it was the process so you would take in less . Preview on YouTube . I think there is such a thing as too much and streaming artist aren’t getting paid properly at all while execs like Daniel Elk make a killing

It would get ripped to the internet in a day and people would just pirate/youtube it

95% of listeners are too lazy to do that
