How do y'all feel about JK Rowling's comments about Transgenders?

    It started with this tweet

And then she went further to expand on, in very over simplified terms, why she feels that the trans activist movement is harmful to women as well as to some young people who may think they are trans but have been confused by all the stuff they hear/see.

    jkrowling.com/opinions/j-k-rowling-writes-about-her-reasons-for-speaking-out-on-sex-and-gender-issues

I'm not really sure how to feel about it, so I was curious what y'all thought

Initially, I do feel like she brings up some valid points, but there are so many trans activists that are very loud online and is therefore made into seeming like a huge villain.

Bro what are you talking about?

  • Jun 10, 2020

Including transgender people in feminism would dilute JK Rowling's fight for her rights as a billionaire white lady, which is obviously unacceptable

"“So I want trans women to be safe. At the same time, I do not want to make natal girls and women less safe. When you throw open the doors of bathrooms and changing rooms to any man who believes or feels he’s a woman – and, as I’ve said, gender confirmation certificates may now be granted without any need for surgery or hormones – then you open the door to any and all men who wish to come inside. That is the simple truth.”"
    thats just blatant transphobia

You see there are some very valid points in here. especially with social media being an echo chamber and making things seem worse / more common then they are.

at the same time in other paragraphs she comes off as a straight up transphobe

JK Rowling has terrible opinions on everything so it's not surprising that includes this

This whole scandal was stupid in the first place. She literally just said that people who have periods are called women. And that’s the truth because only people BORN as women can have periods. So Transgender men, who were born as women, can have periods too (although they might get surgery idk). Transgender women, born as men, not having periods doesn’t make them any less women.

I mean we cant just completely ignore biology... Also there really are people on the internet who live in their own LGBTQ+ bubble and want the whole world to change after their ideals.

But the real question is. Why does J.K rowling always bother about 🏳️‍🌈?

Condescending ass tweet. It's obvious she's trying to antagonize rather than have a respectful dialogue.
