A lot of my friends signed up for Job Corps while I was getting discharged from the military these are guys who have children and literally just want to build a better life for themselves so to see this amazing resource shutdown lowkey worries me

Educate us. What's going on with the Job Corp? How did it get in this position? What people are affected? @op

The criminalization of homelessness. The cutting/reduction of safety nets and social programs. Expansion of the prison system. This s*** is evil and intentional.

So basically the progams being put on pause because it couldn't meet budget cuts, there's a ton of different campuses nationwide that do well with finding good contractors to teach students at fair prices, but some do not and balloon the budget up to this awful number. So now the entire program is being shutdown nationwide, leaving people about to get certifications to start a better life in limbo and those taking the first step to better their lives two steps back.

Quite an unfortunate event. It helped many of my friends find job placement when they were struggling.
