This is a tip more so when you actually get the job and wanna move up but...At the end of the day life is a popularity contest, businesses love people who fit their corporate culture more so than your qualifications. Sad to say but if everyone in your job likes you and you’re mediocre you’ll still move up much faster than if you’re amazing at your job but don’t really network with anyone.

So go kiss some ass and you’ll make it big in no time. It’s a f***ing job to make a living at the end of the day, so put your pride aside and do what it takes to chase the dollar. You probably won’t be able to look at yourself in the mirror when you get to the top but hey, at least you’ll be stacking.

I feel disgusted just typing all that s*** out, F*** America, our buddy system for the corporate culture whether it be working McDonald’s or at Goldman Sachs is ubiquitous, it’s like going back to HS all over again. Life is a game, just play your cards right. S*** is sad tbh. Or maybe I’m just sad tbh. Or maybe it’s really both.

    Make friends.

making friends in the industry you are looking at is probably the biggest hack. most of my friends in the sector dont apply for jobs

Don’t apply to more than one place bro

A lot of them talk amongst themselves and will blacklist you from being hired

Pick one company and apply for every job that company offers. And keep doing this every year till you get accepted.

I've recently lost a job of 4+ years, i've had a few interviews since etc.. it seems more people want versatility rather than specialty in a lot of roles compared to when I went for the original job.
Another thing would be to focus on good communication skills as they help with almost any role..

no i disagree, job markets are competitive and you need to value yourself.

Just work as hard as you can to get into the field you want to be, because you're gonna be taking s*** no matter what you're doing so it may as well be worth it and with a goal in mind.

Make sure you make your resume for each job specific to the description for the job with your skills and achievements
