As far as warren massuchusetts Dems hold a super majority in the state senate so they could easily change the rules tht her replacement must be from the same party like other states hv done before but even then theres a good chance the gov picks a generic democrat either way. It's a sensical albeit boring pick. Biden's striding a fine line of trying to be as vanilla as possible. Klobuchar has a decent reputation, is a woman, and falls in line with the slightly democrat-centrist Biden approach. She might not bring anything to the table, but she doesn't alienate anyone either (in theory), and Biden's camp seems far more obsessed with voter retention than he does courting new voters.
