Rose Colored

It’s too lo-fi and atmospheric but very one note for me. Not really my bag with his music — I definitely prefer the lyric heavier stuff.

It’d have taken some doing to top Nectar, in his defence.

Sojourn is super fresh though. Ooft.

album is cool after a few listen, but being 46 minutes long with 21 songs it feels a mix of different ideas that aren't fully fleshed out

it's enjoyable for sure though

yeah this isn’t it there are some really good songs but it feels like just such a meh album

wasn’t worth the wait

I feel like if some of the songs were fleshed out to be longer and some were cut this would be a much better album overall. I personally enjoyed all the singles so for me most things up till track 16 is nice. Those last 5 songs just feel demo-y/boring. He makes good use of his feats as usual such as Fade to Black and Piece of You (love his singing with Giveon on here). I rlly wish Fade to Black was the longer track as opposed to can't see s*** in the club cause sure it's a nice transition but this song, albeit not bad, feels a lot more hollow compared to the previous.

As many have said Sojourn and Rose colored are fun bops production goes crazy on sojourn. Overall this album in terms of sound feels a lot more closer to in tongues/ballads as opposed to Nectar. Nectar is one of my fav album of the decade/oat so I hold it high and wasn't rlly expecting him to reach that tier so soon. We'll just have to see how being with this new label affects his sound more down the line.
