It’s just now hitting me how this was the best script / story / plot whatever they came up with how is this what they landed on

This is a weird one. On one hand I can’t call this complete trash but it definitely didn’t need to exist. Feels like a complete different world from the first one. Joker 1 was lightning in a bottle.

Movie is actually just kinda sad tbh somber and slow pace apart from the music which I also didn’t see the point of but kinda grew on me as the movie went along. I will say this though, I never felt like I was watching a comic book adjacent movie at all. I commend todd phillips for making what feels like he wanted to make aside from what we know the studios definitely wanted this to be.

Agree with it didn’t feel like a CBM in a good way. Movie flew by

I like it more than I didn’t like it it just pretty much never has the joker in it being the joker which is what i was expecting it to build off from the first one. It was actually too grounded

100% agree and you know the studios wanted the complete opposite, just joaquin in a suit going batshit with the revolver in hand for 2 hours so I commend todd phillips for doing it his way. This felt like an aftermath of the first movie more than a direct sequel

Ah, the joker blood smile. FAN SERVICE is not a good thing. It’s the studios saying, oh, everyone LOVED when joker danced down the stairs, right? That was everyone’s favourite standout moment from the first film, let’s make that part of what joker DOES now, his thing is to dance down stairs and gaga will use a blood smile too!

@Kr0niic Damn thinking more on this and i rly feel like a good movie was right in front of them and they just never let the joker be the joker. At every point where he was about to escape he gets caught it makes sense that he gets caught but like let him escape and actually become who he is supposed to be thats the movie we want
