Haven’t seen yet but it seems like the biggest indictment on the movie is that it isn’t divisive or polarising. People seem to pretty much widely agree that it’s just not great. Cool in some parts but overall doesn’t really amount to much. That’s terrible news

Dismissing Joker as a Taxi Driver ripoff is such lazy criticism imo. There’s influence, but it’s definitely different enough to stand on its own. The Batman takes more from Fincher than Joker takes from Scorsese.
