this would have been much better if they had actually written original songs. the music was mostly awkwardly fitted into the narrative, not much rhyme or reason to the editing of dramatic scenes getting juxtaposed with the music. the main reason I don’t hate this is bc franchise suicide is interesting. it doesn’t necessarily make for a good movie, but it’s a memorable experience

That part
Was it awkward laughter, or are y’all just sick f***s? Lol
Such a strange scene for a big studio movie
more laughing like “bruh, why is this even part of the movie”
also, maybe part of me just found it humorous how much the director seemed to dislike his own protagonist. it was sorta second-hand embarrassment, like, this felt like the director working through his gripes with his own creation in the most awkward ways. so sometimes I’d laugh to keep from groaning
Matrix 4 bodies this, I’m afraid
Nothing ironic about that
Sadly you need to be in this film if you truly think that
It just gets worse with every statement
https://twitter.com/discussingfilm/status/1843710391719006441I think that’s just the main theme of the film, not really something out of pocket to say. The Joker is more of a symbol in this world they made, not just a singular person. It’s the embodiment of chaos and anger and people who’ve been failed by the world. Arthur was Joker but there is no definitive THE Joker. It’s a theme even from the first, when the Wayne’s get gunned down the guy says he’s the Joker.

I rated them about the same. I like a majority of what both present but they do have their flaws and it’s easy to see why people would dislike the films
Makes total sense to me lmao
What was the point of all this again?
Tbh, take out a few musical scenes and it’s pretty good imo
Be honest, is Todd even directing directing here
It just gets worse with every statement
https://twitter.com/discussingfilm/status/1843710391719006441He more or less says this exact quote in the movie tho lol
I kinda f*** with this energy, seems to have backfired tho
He more or less says this exact quote in the movie tho lol
In the movie it’s framed more as “there was never a split personality, it’s all me”
Todd Phillips is now framing it as if he was never Joker, even in the first film

Nah It was definitely framed as both in this movie.
When he says "there's no joker" in the courtroom all of his supporters in the court room bailed on him.
The scene after with Harley reiterates that point. She said he ruined the fantasy and Arthur responded by saying he's still the same guy that did all those things. And she says "no he's not, there's no joker"

I disagree. The entire plot of the movie is whether Arthur Fleck and Joker are the same person or a split personality
