Retcon it and say that guy was just one of the joker’s fans or goons. His portrayal was trash anyway
He’s much more Joker than whatever this old man is.

Heath Ledger already nailed the edgy Joker on screen before. The vibe i got from the batman's joker was a poor impersonation of heath ledger's joker. Brought nothing unique to the character. What i get from Joaquin Phoenix is something new and fresh which automatically makes him better in my book.

Ofc gotta see more but from what Matt has said about this version strikes me more as the loose cannon mass murdering Joker who is evil for the heck of it. I’m not interested in a sob story about Arthur Fleck again

Joker 1 was the origin story. The 2nd movie is gonna be him as full fledged Joker i'd imagine

He’s old as s*** by the time Bruce is born, there’s no way it fits together

He was on screen for a grand total of 5 minutes

this was enough for me. Not interested in seeing anymore of this Joker. I'll just watch the dark knight.

!https://youtu.be/FKGhtSCVovoMy point being you have no idea how he would be as a full fledged character nor have they indicated they’re using him like that
That’s also a deleted scene for a reason

!https://youtu.be/FKGhtSCVovoNah his vocal tone has some heath but the voice overall leans more in the traditional joker direction
“This is hilarious Todd but where’s the actual script, like the actual draft? What do you mean this is it? nervous glance at agent Like I’ll be singing the entire time?”
I'm dead the musical with gaga been announced. WB really released it again to save face
For a movie that could potentially make a billion. That's wild
If hbomax was still a thing you know Gaga woulda got her standalone tv show
Why everyone sad hbo max getting axed and I’m happy lol
I really like Barry Keoghan as Joker from what I've seen
I'd love to see Joaquin face off with Battinson instead , but im liking the direction Reeves is taking Barry's Joker

what exactly would joaquin do to “face off” ? His joker isn’t actually some master planner/domestic terrorist

I meann to be fair, we only saw him spend like a couple days as the "Joker" in the film.
We don't get to see what type of Joker he really becomes, he's in the very very early stages of his villian progression
Later on he might just be a brutal psychopath with a lot goons and followers. Maybe like a cult type leader who has a lot of influence over Gotham's crime underground
Joker is usually not known for being physically gifted, but he always has loyal followers to do his work

this is true he could turn into that but i could only see it if he takes advantage of his cult like following like you said
thing is i think todd philips is probably having more emphasis on his disillusioned state of awareness more than trying to actually be a villan

I doubt she had time

Imagine asking for points instead of a salary. Could make 10x the money

Yea I most definitely think Todd is taking a much more psychological approach to the character
I think a lot of the scenes in the sequel will take place in Joker's mind instead of the real world
