Really can’t imagine this movie will be filled with CGI. Part one was inspired by Scorcese films and had very little special effects, HIGHLY doubt Phillips would turn part two into a CGI fest

The movie deserves a chance though, at least they're trying something different. Don't know why it's so f***ing hard to do a Joker movie though. It always has to be some kind of tongue in cheek subvert expectations s***.

It will do well commercially but most likely not critical unless there is some grand bloody romantic finale that blows audiences away. The musical aspect will be what holds it back

Lots of casual movie goers didn't like that mean girls reboot was a musical and some even walked out. That was basically just a lighthearted comedy. Now imagine the juxtaposition of the dark drana of joker 1 with try hard musical numbers forces in. Audiences who enjoy musicals goto the theater not amc's
