joker 1 one of those movies that pretentious people think they're cool if they say they don't like it. this movie gonna be no different.
The first one takes influence from Scorsese, but I think it mostly does so in a way that works.
The film has other problems. Certain character beats are a bit underdeveloped / sloppy. Joaquin’s performance is a bit forced. But, I’ve always been entirely unconvinced that its influence ever goes too far, or makes Joker feel unoriginal.
It still feels, to me, like a product of the time it was made in, and a worthy evolution.
People marking out about some of the compositions in this trailer would have actual brain aneurysms if they watched Decision to Leave.
It’s pretentious art without any substance
The last shot specifically or the whole thing? Last shot I think is genuinely inspired
Besides people being cringe about ‘omgggg! the out of focus lipstick smile looks like his make up!’ I think it’s a pretty interesting joker interpretation that Harley manipulates him by saying Arthur isn’t the real him, and the fact that she sees him from her perspective with the red smile is enough to make him snap back into it
This whole thing is kinda poisoned because even explaining it sounds cringe lmaoo but I genuinely think that’s cool

For real, there’s tons of substance in that last shot

I was tongue in cheek with my post. First one was cool but I thought it was overhyped, same thing with the last scene in this trailer. Good a***ysis though

Bottom tier Chan-Wook tbh
It’s been 12 hours and the shot at the end is already uncool to like. They won’t stop here. How long until there’s nothing left to like
Joker 1 all over again
wasnt this basically joker 1
Nah that was suicide squad, timeliness was nothing but cringe Leto joker and Margot Harley memes
Will the US military release another notice about that the Joker movie might incite violence?

The first one is really nice. I just wish they calmed down the taxi driver references a bit and handled the whole Zazie Beetz imagination better. But the last 20-30 minutes is flawless.
