Really the biggest problem with the movie honestly. So many plot points just feel completely stupid--for example the whole Zazie Beets love interest storyline or even the appearance at the talk show

It really did feel like a "society" meme for a lot of its runtime constantly drilling into the audience how everyone constantly s***s on him. It also starts feeling contrived and melodramatic

It ends up in a movie that's hard to take seriously a lot of the time

pretty sure the general consensus outside of the casuals is that joaquin did his thing and carried the movie however the writing was mediocre
