The summer after it finished, I used an HBO trial to quickly watch the entire series every day after work. So I got to watch the show at a semi binge pace and finish it quickly, but not so quick to where I forgot everything. Also, I didn’t have years to get attached to the show and characters. From my standpoint, the show really hit a great stride in like season 3, was amazing in season 5, and then 7 and 8 randomly made the show boring as all hell and I almost struggled to finish it. S*** was pretty bad. If I had spent years watching it I probably would’ve gotten to that final season and just tried to forget the whole thing, but watching it the way I did def softened the bad ending.
