Doing this in the middle of the relationship when he knew what he signed up for prior to the relationship isn't about boundaries, it's setting rules because he probably started to feel a way about things. To which, she didn't have to follow and they were free to break up.
There isn't much wrong with what Jonah said other than coming off as very insecure and controlling at points in the text. What it comes down to is if he knew how she was before pursuing her and knew that wasn't what he jived with, why pursue her in the first place?

I agree that insecurity is likely to be the primary motivation for his actions. On the other hand, people "feeling" a "controlling vibe" is flat out wrong. "Feeling" anything through what you read holds no basis in real life. Feelings and bias don't belong in an argument.
From what I've seen, he merely proposed rules to curb this insecurity, and an ultimatum to accompany this.

Except I have literally said itt he's fine for wanting to break it off if she didn't want to agree to his rules. Just like she was fine for not wanting to abide by his sudden rule changes when they've been in the relationship for months after not having issues with who she was or what she was doing before they were together.
