@op watched Birth last night, digged it a lot underrated tbh. Under The Skin is on another level yes but in Birth def already saw a lot of what I found brilliant about the cinematography/ editing/ storytelling in UTS. I'd actually say in terms of cast/performances it tops UTS for me, also Desplat soundtrack is tight, good s***

yeah for sure Kubrickian with the camerawork though I wouldn't say necessarily derivative, he def got his own edge to it. Not going far beyond that same controlled frame feel to it, otherwise fairly different films
