Oscar WinnerI’m not sure what y’all aren’t understanding? I’m saying most great actors usually have something f***ed up going on in them (sociopathic behavior being one) and usually that helps attribute to being a great actor. Kinda like how they say most/all geniuses are crazy.
To me in my opinion the best actors are empathetic or create an empathetic performance that does have conscience. If you want to say they are good at pretending to be human because they are a sociopath that is cool we just disagree. I respectfully disagree that is all .
To each their own.

most people associate the term with serial killers or some extreme example but if you go by definition you don’t necessarily have to be the worst type of person to be labeled such

Which loops back to we don't know these people. You don't know if they are struggling to go through whatever they are going through. A conscience and empathy could be there we don't necessarily know what someone is going through

Maybe he's just extremely selfish and difficult to negotiate ideas with on set, to the point where it doesn't seem like he cares about anyone else's feelings. Maybe he's really cutthroat, narcissistic or both. We don't know for sure.

Maybe he's just extremely selfish and difficult to negotiate ideas with on set, to the point where it doesn't seem like he cares about anyone else's feelings. Maybe he's really cutthroat, narcissistic or both. We don't know for sure.

I wasn’t being literal, but yes I believe most great actors have something f***ed up going on. Wether it be being a sociopath, or something else. And as much as you wanna believe they are great ppl, you and I will never know for sure because these are great actors. When do you truly know if they are being themselves or acting? There’s no way to.
Being able to successfully and believable play 100s of different types of roles and then still have to be yourself when not on set isn’t normal. Which is why not anyone can just be a great actor.
It’s different IMO than making music, because you’re actually living in the body of another “person” and trying to be them. Unfortunately it lead to Heath’s death cus he couldn’t bounce back.

Being a really great liar can be considered a low entry of being a sociopath.
