He and his ex had a pretty toxic relationship with each other and it got to the point where she thought she was cheating while they were in a cab, and she was trying to take his phone by force and like hitting him as well.

He attempted to get away from her by leaving the car and trying to keep her in the cab, but in doing so, he injuried her finger and her head somewhat. And this is where we get the vid of him being chased by her.

He was only found guilty on unintentionally hurting her finger.
