Not gonna lie, downgrade x100 from her last album’s lineup

Hype to check this out after work later, loved her last album

I hate saying it, but this is not touching Overgrown. I’m actually quite let down, which sucks because I was super hyped

For one, the production is not nearly as eclectic and immersive as Overgrown was. Too many washed out guitars and sounds we’ve heard from mainstream R&B too often. I mentioned the feature lineup being a big step down and yea it sounds like what I expected. How you gon go from Freddie and WSG to Rio Da Yung OG?

That being said, really digging Dangerous, Until Next Time, and the JID joint. I also gotta point out Down To Earth, which is maybe my favourite, but feels like a blatant copy of Jenevieve’s Beam Me Up, which not only was also the last song on her album, but the song titles are basically parallels too lmao.

I think more listens will do it justice though. She’s been super proud of this in her interviews so happy for her nonetheless
