I mean DEI initiatives is something that can really only good can come from, it’s a bandaid solution that should be improved, and it’s just solving a symptom and not getting to the root of the issue, but stripping it away will do no good and is just a step in the wrong direction.

If you look at history, you could say oh why do we focus on the first black baseball player or whatever, why does his identity matter, but these things are important because it’s a sign of progress. It really does mean something in the larger context of history.
By the way, the poster I was speaking to originally replied to me saying he doesn’t like trump but that he isn’t really effected by trump personally. In general this is the heart of the issue, people need to vote considering everyone, not just how they personally feel. If you logically look at Kamala vs Trump and try to consider everyone affected I think the choice was clear, but like that guy said “it didn’t effect me personally” seems to be a common reason for not voting.
