is it explicitly stated that Sakuna needed Megumi to kill Gojo? Otherwise why would a prideful guy like him would need to calculate and wait to take over his body?

Isn't it because he wanted Megumis ten shadow technique to kill Gojo? More specifically - Mahoraga since its already been documented that Mahoraga is capable of killing someone like Gojo

Quite the opposite actually. Gojo in the afterlife to Geto stated that both Sukuna didnt give it his all and that he wasnt even sure if he wouldve won without Mahoraga

I completely forgot about this smh, honestly I think that was just Gojo making assumptions else why would Sukuna even go after Megumi in the first place unless I guess he was just interested in the technique

ima be real I think this sentiment is a bit of headcanon by Gojo fans. All Sukuna said in chapter 213 when taking over Megumi is that he sensed the cursed technique´s high potential. I dont think he did all this to go ahead and plan to fight Gojo since the beginning. Especially since by that time Gojo was sealed. Megumi was just his prefered way out ticket.

Yeah I think u right, just read the opening of 213 again and it sounds like the ten shadows technique was more of a bonus than anything - seems like Megumis body was just more suitable for him than Yujis

Dont think so. I said it in another post but in ch. 213 sukuna only mentioned Megumis potential to host him, his great CT and the fact he could break his spirit so it wouldnt be another Yuji situation. It also wouldnt make much sense for him to prepare on fighting Gojo while that man was literally sealed. He knew his powers obv since he saw them through Yuji but thats about it. His main objective was always just to be free (of Yuji)

Gojo was just showing humility when he was praising Sukuna in the afterlife. Without the 10S technique, Sukuna would be toast. Were it not for Mahoraga, I truly believe Gojo would've won. Now, obviously, Gojo winning was never an option because the plot needed him out of the picture in order for the story to progress in a meaningful way. The way Gege did it is actually genius, because even though Gojo lost, he didn't come out of the battle looking weak. Sukuna simply outsmarted him and eventually did become stronger in the process. Gojo would clap Heian-era Sukuna though, no question.
