it started as being interested in the technique but once he fights maho in shibuya and learns what it does he already decides he will use it to kill gojo. the manga emphasizes this point in chapter 118 when sukuna says "megumi you've showed me the way" after realizing mago adapts to any and everything aka he's found the way touch gojo. without maho literally none of his attacks even reach gojo. it would come down to straight domain battles.

According to you guys he has been nonstop plotting to kill him even tho he was literally sealed. We have nothing that suggests Sukuna was thinking of Gojo this entire time. It is much more likely he wanted to be rid of a body he cannot control and was interested in Megumis technique. The fight was close af and we literally have gojo´s confirmation that even without the 10 shadows it wouldve been close. Cant we just leave it at that? Or do we have to insert Gojo into everything?
